Practical Advantages

Why Do we Utilize the Question and Answer Method?

1. The Question and Answer Method Encourages Unity of Essential Beliefs Among God’s Children

Many people want to know what constitutes a true Christian essential teaching. What are the primary teachings of the Christian faith? What teachings are worth separating over? We believe that the Kids 4 Truth Clubs can help promote unity among Christians by helping establish the fundamentals of the faith.

1 Corinthians 1:10 -- Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

We believe that clearly and precisely teaching the fundamentals of the faith will result in unity amongst believers.

2. The Question and Answer Method Promotes a Faster, Deeper Understanding as Verses are Tied to Appropriate Questions

Questions and answers help children tie verses to meaning through the use of questions and answers. If a child can begin to grasp what question(s) the memorized verse answers, and not just memorize content, it aids the learning process. In many Christian children’s clubs, the boys and girls are only required to learn bible verses. We think that this is good, but not best. We think it far better to tie those verses to a question to help children formulate an understanding of the meaning of the verses. Children begin to understand the usefulness of God’s Word as they see how clearly it answers important questions. We can help children follow the example of Christ as we instill rich Christian teachings through the question and answer method.

Luke 2:52 -- And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.

3. The Question and Answer Method Stimulates and Motivates Learning, Because Most Children, Especially Younger Ones, Love to Answer Questions.

Kids love to answer questions! We think that questions are a teacher’s most useful ally, because through them we gain access to precious minds. We feel that the Kids 4 Truth method engages their attention along with the thinking part of their brain better than just recitation of content. As Jesus showed, questions are invaluable when teaching truth!

Matthew 16:15 -- He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?

It is impossible to internally avoid questions. God has designed our minds to immediately assent to some type of answer to every direct question we’re asked. We have tried to carefully craft the questions to be meaningful for boys and girls – in other words, we want boys and girls to grasp the necessity of having a biblical answer because the questions are so important. We hope that the Kids 4 Truth questions will lead children to personally cherish the answers of truth that lead to abundant life.

4. The Question and Answer Method is a Safeguard Against Heresy

When we consider that virtually every cult in America began with an open Bible and a enigmatic leader who could ensure his or her followers that they alone have discovered what everyone else, especially the creeds, confessions and catechisms, have missed, we see perhaps the greatest value of the question and answer method (Ephesians 4:14-15).

The practice of indoctrination through the question and answer method serves as an important safeguard against heresy and helps to combat some of the problems associated with the private interpretation of Scripture. How many times have you been forced to sit through a Bible study in which the goal was not to discover what the text actually says, but instead to discover what a particular verse means to each of the studies' participants?

Infusing truth into the hearts and minds of children though the question and answer method provides a sure foundation to stand against heresy and gives the confidence and ability to rightly interpret the word of truth.

Matthew 7:15 -- Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

2 Peter 1:20 -- Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

1 John 4:1 -- Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

2 Peter 3:16 -- As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

5. The Question and Answer Method Prepares Boys and Girls to Appreciate and Understand Sermons, Lessons, and Other Bible Teaching.

We think that learning systematic truth through the question and answer method helps provide a framework by which kids will be able to assimilate other bible truth. Kids 4 Truth prepares boys and girls to love the truth by equipping them to understand it. When you hear a sermon and know why it is important and where it fits in your theology – you’re more apt to listen, understand, and appreciate it.

We like to think of our process of indoctrination as providing children with a strong skeleton of truth whereby they can begin to hang the “muscles and skin” that they learn in Sunday school, personal devotions, and other God-centered church and family activities.

2 Timothy 3:15 -- And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

Ephesians 4:13-14 -- Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive.

6. The Question and Answer Method Clearly Summarizes Key Beliefs and Can Easily Act as a Standard or Test of Essential Teachings

Truth divides or unites. In today’s spiritual climate, there is much fuzzy ground when it comes to essential doctrine. We think that it is time for God’s church to establish a standard of doctrinal knowledge that we ought to teach boys and girls – and a standard of how Christians accomplish that .

Kids 4 Truth Clubs is a humble attempt to help the church establish those two standards.

Titus 1:9 -- Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.

1 Timothy 4:6 -- If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.

Colossians 1:23 -- If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister.
